He was born and raised in the Siberian city of Tara on the banks of the Irtysh River. The nature and landscape of Siberia had a profound influence on the formation of his perception of the world and artistic vision. Moving to Moscow became an important stage in his creative career — the capital inspired the artist and pushed him to experiment with paints.
Sukhov began his career with acrylics, but soon moved on to oil painting, which became his main medium. He appreciates the unique texture and ability of the oil to change over time — the appearance of cracks, irregularities and roughness give the completed works a special expressiveness.
The artist works mainly in large formats, for which he created a spacious studio — a bright space with panoramic views, which became his creative laboratory and a source of inspiration.
