The exposition "The Chambers of the boyars of the XVII century"
It is located in the northern part of the Tsaritsa Chambers, a building specially built in 1650-1652 for religious visits to the Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery of Tsarina Maria Ilyinichna, the first wife of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich.
The interior reconstruction was carried out at the exposition "The Chambers of the Boyar", which allows you to imagine the lifestyle of noble Russian women of the XVII century. Among the rooms that can be seen at the exhibition are the Anteroom, or Reception Room, where guests were greeted, the Refectory, where they ate, and the Light Room, designed for needlework.
The facade and interiors of the Queen's Chambers are divided into three parts – the central and two side ones. Each of them has a traditional structure for a Russian house, consisting of an entrance hall and living quarters located on both sides of the entrance hall. In the central chambers, to which the front porch leads, the queen lived with her children. The northern and southern chambers were occupied by boyars who accompanied the queen on a pilgrimage. After entering the chambers, the women did not leave them until the departure of the royal train from the monastery. Therefore, the northern cage of the Tsaritsa Chambers is connected by a passage with the Trinity gate Church, built as the house church of the Tsaritsa.
